Give Us This Day ...

The first year of high school can be daunting enough for a young girl: the stress of a new school and new friends, negotiating your way through high school cliques and searching for one that fits, the pressures of study piled onto the pressure of just trying to fit in. But Casey Spencer has bigger problems, emotional problems maybe (she isn’t really sure), but maybe something bigger.

Casey has suddenly developed an irrational fear, one that is overshadowing and controlling her life, causing her grades to plummet and her parents to wonder what’s wrong – enough to have scheduled an appointment with a school counselor to get to the bottom of Casey’s problem before things get out of hand.

But to Casey, things are already out of hand, and far beyond  what she considers a school counselor’s capacity to help, something instead that Casey will have to confront on her own. And the, one afternoon after school as she waits for her parents to get home, Casey decides to do just that.

Give Us This Day… is the story of Casey Spencer’s battle with bread – but not with eating it, with being afraid of it. Afraid of it watching her and stalking her, and afraid of what it might decide to do next.
